Chasefu Town Council Chairperson Chimwemwe Banda has urged beneficiaries of the Cash for Work Program in Chasefu district not to compromise on the quality of various projects they are embarking on in their respective wards.
Ms. Banda says there is need for the community to reciprocate the poverty alleviation initiative by government through quality works that will stand a taste of time and subsequently be appreciated by the community.
Speaking when she addressed the workers during the inspection of various Cash for Work activities in Membe and Chaboli Wards, the Council Chairperson reiterated that the initiative that seeks to cushion poverty levels emanating form the drought experienced in the previous rainy season should be appreciated by well-meaning Zambians.
She has also urged beneficiaries to avoid submitting mobile money accounts whose names are conflicting with the ones appearing on their Green National Registration Cards NRCs to receive timely payments.
Chasefu Town Council has registered 80 beneficiaries for each of the 72 zones across the district, into a total number of 5,760, while 20 data entry clerks have been engaged and have since commenced the works.
In October, 1,015 were engaged by the local authority under the Cash for Work Program 950 of which have been paid while 65 others have not received their payment due to incorrect details.
Meanwhile various beneficiaries of Cash for Work Program have applauded government for the initiative which has come as a relief in time of need.
