Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Dr. Lewis Mwape has observed that Zambians are vibrant and productive if they have access to capital for self-sustainability.
Dr. Mwape says it is for this reason that the new dawn administration has placed importance on the empowerment of women, men and young people through the Constituency Development Fund CDF as a tool for the eradication of barriers to the capacity of citizens to contribute to the county’s economic growth.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary was speaking when he handed over more than six million to the beneficiaries of CDF empowerment loans and grants in Chasefu District.
76 groups drawn from all the 72 wards of Chasefu District have benefitted from a sum of k2,348,898.36 in form of grants, while a total of k3,492,963.18 has been handed over to 40 beneficiaries through empowerment loans and k715,069 has been disbursed as a revolving fund to 10 other beneficiaries.
At the same event the minister also handed over 5 classroom blocks and a Tipper truck, all courtesy of the Constituency Development Fund CDF.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary has further urged parents in Chasefu District to take advantage of the free education policy of the new dawn administration and take their children to school as opposed to prioritizing marriage which stagnate their dreams.
And Speaking at the same occasion, Chasefu member of parliament Misheck Nyambose thanked government for not compromising on the welfare of citizens not only in Chasefu District, but Zambia as a whole.
Mr. Nyambose said Zambia is poised for greatness in the wake of the policies of the new dawn administration.
Among other commissioned projects include a 1 x 3 Classroom block at Phikamalaza and Chiginya Primary Schools in Membe ward, 1 x 3 Classroom block at Eluhangeni Primary School in Chaboli ward, 1 x 3 Classroom block at Nkhanga Primary School in Nkhanga ward, a 3 Bedroomed Staff House at Khulamayembe and a 1×2 Classroom Block at Munthyengu Primary Schools in Mandahill and Kapilisanga wards.
